Cruise at a leisurely pace in our 1890's style
fantail launch "Fancy" only yards from shorelines, lovely estates, and
historic downtown. A common excursion boat at the turn of the century
"Fancy" is quite unique on the river today. Dolphins and wading birds
are often close by as we glide past islands, parks and marinas. Experience the
way things were done when the century was young. Welcome aboard!

The Halifax Historical Society
was founded in 1949. The mission of the Society is to gather and preserve the
history of the Halifax River area and present it to the public in an interesting
and educational manner. Visitors often comment that this museum and it's
impressive collections are one of the best kept "secrets" in the North
Central Florida area.

Our renovation process has begun its interior phase,
and it is not safe for the public to enter. We continue to offer our eight (8)
lighthouse and nautical museums. We have several video theaters with ongoing
shows about the early days of the lighthouse, early racing on the beach, the
local ship wreck of the Commodore and lighthouse lens technology. The Ponce De
Leon Inlet Lighthouse is still a rewarding experience. The Lighthouse tower
should be open by June 1, 2001.
