The tent sites, on the other hand, are located under heavy oak-tree canopy. Since the maximum stay permitted is six months and there are full hook-ups, "Snowbirds" frequent the campground. The campground is within walking distance of Salt Springs Run, which, in about 5 miles, discharges into Lake George. Unlike many National Forest campgrounds, the sites are close together with little ground vegetation screening. There is a small shopping center across the street from the campground entrance.
